Procedure for your CNC program

MODERN MANUFACTURING TECHNIQUES
CNC MILLING INITIALS

Instructions:

1) The size of the workpiece is .250 thick x 2.00 wide x 4.80 long, and the material is Aluminum.
2) The material will have to be milled to length.
3) Use your three initials of your name, GRAPH the letters first, indicating any points needed for start and end of lines. Make any calculations for these points.
4) Allow equal spacing between the letters, and centralize the letters on the material.
5) The letters can be any height and width that you choose. However, the letters will be machined to a depth of .025, unless you want to achieve a custom appearance.
6) Write a draft of the program first.
7) Then using a computer, type the program and save to the hard drive.
8) Print a copy of the program.
9) Have the Instructor proof-read your program.
10) Make any corrections to the program that is needed.
11) Set up the mill to accept the program from the computer.
12) Dry run the program without any tooling.
13) Dry run the program again with a tool but not cutting.
14) Run the program, with tooling.
15) Clean the CNC Milling machine.
